Light balancing filters

Wide range of filter options: we offer filters that cater to specific applications or industries, such as UV, IR, or visible light filters in many different application fields.

The three primary colors, red, green and blue, combine to form white light. The tint of white depends on the color temperature of the light. When color temperature is high, more blue light exists. When color temperature is low, there’s more red light. Light Balancing Filters correct artificial lighting, so colors appear more natural. For example, by blocking most of the blue portion of the spectrum transmitted by cool white LED lamps, the object being inspected has a more natural look to the human eye. Light Balancing Filters are a better option for correcting color than computer software, which can degrade resolution. When possible, it’s always better to balance light with optics than software.

LB120 Light Balancing Filter (Minus Red)

The LB120 Light Balancing Filter (Minus Red) is used to raise color temperature by reducing unnatural red tones created by some sodium and mercury lighting. LB120 filters are placed over the camera change and shift the apparent color by 120 mired. Useful Range : 400-700nm Tolerance : +/- 5 Mired Surface Quality : 40/20

FL550 Light Balancing Filter (Minus Green)

The FL550 Light Balancing Filter (Minus Green) is used to eliminate the strong greenish color that often results when illuminating with white fluorescent lighting. The FL550 absorbs light in the middle of the visible spectrum, which is where most color cameras have their strongest response, eliminating a greenish cast, resulting in true-to-life color rendition. Useful Range : 400-700nm Tolerance : +/- 5 Mired Surface Quality : 40/20
