Shortpass filters

Wide range of filter options: we offer filters that cater to specific applications or industries, such as UV, IR, or visible light filters in many different application fields.

Optical Shortpass Filters block or cut-off incoming longer wavelength light by either absorption or reflection, while allowing light below the designed cut-off wavelength to transmit through the optic. Shortpass filters are characterized by their “cut-off” wavelength, which is the wavelength at the 50% point along the transmission slope. Shortpass filters are commonly used to block infrared light from interfering with color camera sensors. They can be used along with Longpass Filters to create custom Bandpass Filters.

SP510 Blue Shortpass Filter

  • threaded mount, c-mount and slip mount option

The SP510 Blue Shortpass Filter passes blue light while blocking the green and red portions of the spectrum. They are useful for improving contrast and resolution, and separating colors in black and white or color applications, as when separating gold or duller metallic finishes from silver or brighter metallic finishes. SP510 is also widely used in 3D measurement applications. Useful Range : 340-500nm Cut-off Wavelength 50% T : 510nm Tolerance : +/- 10nm Peak Transmission : ≥90% Surface Quality : 40/20

SP785 Modified Near-IR Dichroic Block Shortpass Filter

  • threaded mount, c-mount and slip mount option

The SP785 Modified Near-IR Dichroic Block Shortpass Filter is designed to pass visible and shorter NIR wavelengths and assist in filtering near-IR light sources, SP785 can be considered in some cases as an alternative to using a DB735 filter. The second surface is provided with a high efficiency anti-reflection coating. Useful Range : 425-770nm Cut-off Wavelength 50% T : 785nm Tolerance : +/- 10nm Peak Transmission : ≥90% Surface Quality : 40/20
